Family Memory Wall

Hello,

I have been working on a gallery wall in our family room.

Right across from my desk nook.

The only thing that was hanging on the wall was an oversized chalkboard.

I kept the cottage beach theme.

I put together family pictures from our outings at Nantucket.

I also took a drive to my favorite Antique store and

found a Nantucket sign. I was so excited.

Going through my files I found some other wall galleries

I kept for inspiration....

I once thought I would paint one wall with chalkboard paint but we
never changed the wall style in our family room so I opted for a small chalkboard.

Love this picture. It looks so inviting.

There are two spaces left but I'm waiting to take pictures from
this year's outing.

Beautiful Coronado

Hello,

Coronado is one of our most favorite vacation spots.

It's such a beautiful place.

One of my favorite moments is when we first get on the
Coronado Bridge

for the very first time at the highest point and can see the
magnificent

Hotel Del......

The red shingle roof top peeking at us.

The kids describe it as their castle.

Steps from our room is the deck and overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The gardens, the outdoor bars, cafe's, and restaurants.

So beautiful.

We are in the middle of vacation arrived last Thursday.

It's almost a week here.

The kids and hubby enjoying themselves.

San Diego Zoo

LegoLand

Pool

Beach

You name it we are taking it all in.

Much needed break from New England weather

and to just relax and enjoy some quality time together.

The hubby and I enjoying the outdoor night activities

wine tasting with chocolates,

fire pits,

&

signature cocktails.

We can't get enough of this place.

It gets better every year.

Lamp Love

Hello,

Happy Spring!

We are all finally feeling better and enjoying

the outdoors that last couple of days.

I found these great lamps.

One for our sun room and

two for our living room.

Our living room is still in working progress and it's a different

color scheme.

My husband's office and our living room are the only two rooms

where we kept it more with warm colors.

His office representing his Irish background

and our living room representing more of my families heritage

Italian & Spanish.

But I fell in love with these two lamps which I quickly grabbed.

I was looking for white frames and I ended up with two lamps.

Love it when that happens!

Looking for berber pillows.

I think it would look nice with the wicker couch.

Opposite of the wicker couch is one fabric slipcovered chair

and a leather chair.

Love hanging out in this room in the winter in front of the fireplace.






We have been hanging out in our sun room the last couple of weeks.

Listening to music, playing scrabble, and just hanging out.

It's my favorite spot in the morning to drink

coffee after the kids go to school.

It's one of the better rooms where the sunshine pours in.

The woods are still bare but that will change soon.

Spring Mantel

Hello,

It's suppose to warm up this weekend.

I hope Spring will start soon.

This past week we had snow and thought,

Will it never end?

I have been trying to update the house for
Spring.

Lots of wonderful times ahead....

We are looking forward to celebrating our daughter's 4th Birthday.

She was born on the first day of Spring.

The theme this year is
Makeup, Nails, and Pink Panther.

We will see what we come up with........

She loves Pink Panther.

We are also looking forward to our
Spring Break vacation.

Heading to sunny California to be exact
Coronado....

We love that place. So many fun things to do.

Back to decorating.

I have updated our fireplace mantel....

I have one question.

Should I paint the mantel white?

I go back n forth with this.

When we first moved in our Cape House it was all about wall paper, stencil, and all dark wood.

We ended up painting our family room all white.

I have never really shown pictures before because I am still trying to finish decorating.

Lots of changes through out the years.

I left the mantel dark for now because I felt nostalgic that there is something left from when we started updating our house.

What do you think?

Should we paint it white?

I would appreciate your opinion.

To the right is our sun room which I am slowly updating for Spring/Summer season with a few changes.

I will post more pictures of our family room in the future so that you can get a feeling of it.

I am also working on a blank wall on the opposite side of the
photo below.

We are updating the fire screen soon too. We are looking to see whether to change the screen to black or open up the fireplace.

Tulips, Tulips, & more Tulips......

Hello Everyone,

I have been gone for awhile....

My family and I have been sick with ear aches, fevers, bronchitis, and stuffed up heads....

Not so much fun the last two weeks.

I can't wait to catch up with your blogs and take a look at your latest projects.

I came across this today and it made me smile.

I'm anxiously waiting to go out and shop for more tulips to brighten up our house....

One or two more days and we should all be better.
