Sneak Peak...

What style window for your kitchen?

It was a hard decision to decide between a boxed out window
or
single hung window.

Both window types had positive and negative influences.

If we went with the single hung window, it would have matched with the rest of the house.

We just replaced all the windows.

The only concern with the single hung window was that you would have to pull yourself up on the counter to get behind the kitchen faucet to slide the window open. I don't know about you but I don't think I wanted to do that everytime.

If we went with the boxed out window, the kitchen designer kept telling us that we would be surprised how much more space we were going to have behind the kitchen faucet. Didn't really believe him until I went to a friend's house to check out her boxed out window.

It was true.

There was plenty of space and it appeared bigger. Also, it was easier to open the window with the rotating handles.

The boxed out window in our situation was going to face the backyard/patio area. It was going to over hang and I didn't know how that was going to look.

Well we went with the boxed out window.

It has it's own little roof and it overhangs over the garden bushes so it's not in the way.

It also created more counter space and lets in a lot of light.

Overall we are happy with the outcome.

Here is a picture of the boxed out window.

I love our faucet.

It took months to get it but it was worth the wait.

The counters needed to be sealed again so I had a chance to take more pictures of the kitchen without all the kitchen accessories and decor.

More pictures to come.

Take care,

Claudia

Isn't it nice when a hard decision proves to be a good one. Just imagine how annoyed you would have been over time with the single window. I can't wait to see more pics. Don't keep us waiting long, ok?
